Welcome to Heatherlands Primary School
Message from Christian Malone
It is a pleasure to introduce myself as Headteacher of Heatherlands Primary School.
Heatherlands is a three form entry maintained community school located in Parkstone, Poole.
The school was inspected in November 2014 and achieved a 'good' grading with the
inspection team praising consistently good teaching and the guidance that teachers provide
for pupils on what they need to do next to improve their work. In 2017 the school was
designated as a National Support School and now works supporting other schools through the
sharing of good practices.
Heatherlands is a standard focused school with high expectations of pupils in terms of their
behaviour and appearance. Poor behaviour and low level disruption are not tolerated. It is my
belief that through hard work, determination and good behaviour, all children can be
successful. Children begin their journey at Heatherlands in The Early Years and stay
at the school until they leave, ready to begin their secondary education, at the end of Year 6.
There are five key values that underpin the work that is done at Heatherlands, these being:
aspiration, resilience, motivation, independence and respect. It is through these values that the
school will realise its vision of making pupils strive to be the best that they can whilst making
a positive contribution to the school community and beyond.
