Drama Club Thursday 3.15 pm - 4.15 pm
The Year 5 Drama Club has gone to strength to strength and we have started back for the summer term in fine fettle! The children have been learning about how to perform improvisations. Their confidence is growing from week to week and we have some extremely talented actors!
We start each session with a warm-up and some quick-fire drama games, then work on some short sketches, finishing with a performance from anyone who wants to show off their skills and ideas.
The children will also be performing at the Shakespeare Schools Festival, which takes place in November – we are shortly to receive confirmation of which play we will be performing, and then the audition process will start! We will be on the lookout for new members to boost numbers in our class and crew; if need be we will look to other year groups to help us out.
If your Year 5 child is interested in giving drama club a try, please contact Ms Evans for details. It takes places on Thursdays in the hall, from 3.20 until 4.30 pm. There is no cost for this club.
Very proud of our Year 5's who took part in their first ever duathlon event last Friday. They've shown much commitment and dedication to their training over the last 5 weeks as well as great adaptability and progression. This was evident during their 1 lap run of the lower playground, followed by slick transition skills as they headed out promptly on to the bike for 3 laps of the field. Great dismounting skills were displayed as they made their way back to transition before heading out for one final run loop - battling 'jelly legs' and showing gritty determination and much resilience to all complete their final lap with a smile on their face. Well done Year 5! And thank you to our Year 6 marshals - looking forward to welcoming them back to training, for their next block, after the Easter holidays.
