Sainsburys fruit kebabs
Year 1 held a ‘culture day’ as part of their theme ‘Go Global.
They dressed up in the colours of flags from around the world or chose to wear traditional dress or costumes.
On the day one of the activities was to make a tropical fruit kebab. In our ‘Healthy Me’ unit in Jigsaw we had learned about food that is good for us, so we asked Sainsburys at Talbot Heath if they could help us. They kindly donated all the tropical fruit we needed, so that every child could design and make their own kebab.
The children described the tropical fruits before they prepared them and discussed where in the world the fruit had come from. Then they ate them!
